Reasons to Love the Wooden Hut
Along with providing shelter and protection, there are many other reasons to love the Wren Hut from Meric. The pretty and practical addition to your garden is a cozy home for all kinds of little birds. It is an excellent place for nesting birds to set up a secure home to lay their eggs. Birdwatching is an excellent opportunity to introduce your children to their surrounding environment. As the different types of birds fly to your wooden birdhouse, teach kids the names and habits of the colorful and beautiful wrens, finches, warblers, and sparrows.
How to Assemble Wren House
Begin by arranging your supplies and necessary tools.
Included in the wood birdhouse kit are 4 side panels, 2 roof panels, a hanging rope, 13 screws, 3 nails, and 1 metal hinge. You will need to supply your own hammer, screwdriver, and optional wood glue.
Select the front panel, which has the bird hole.
Using the pre-drilled screw holes as guides, attach the two side panels.
Nail in the small metal hinge into the corner of the front panel where the pre-drilled hole is located. See diagram for specific positioning.
Add the back panel opposite the front panel to create a box. Use the pre-drilled holes as guides.
Select the two black roof panels and attach their edges together to create a right angle. Then attach to the box to create a peaked roof.
To hang the birdhouse, silp the included rope through the gap left at the top of the hut above the entrance hole.
This is a semi-finished product and must be sealed or painted before exposing it to outdoors, moisture, high humidity or temperature to prolong its lifespan.
Where to Hang your Bird Hut
Once assembled and decorated to your liking, it is time to find a special place to hang your wooden birdhouse. If you plan to do your bird watching from inside, choose a spot easily visible from the window. Use the included 31.5″ (80cm) length of rope to hang the birdhouse from a sturdy branch in your garden or from a beam on your balcony. It can also simply be set on a ledge or as a centerpiece in a miniature fairy garden. Watch as your feathered friends flock to their new favorite hangout.
